Boost from Skin Brushing

1) What is Skin Brushing or Dry Body Brushing?

Dry brushing is simply brushing your absolutely dry skin (entire body except your face) in a motion towards the heart to support skin renewal, stimulate the lymphatic system (which in turn helps the immune, nervous and digestive systems), aid in the removal of toxins, exfoliate and give you a sense of well-being. Dry brushing is one of the easiest techniques you can add to your daily regime for the maximum benefits!

Dry brushing should be practiced each day, typically in the morning (before you shower.)

2) Why Skin Brushing?

Your skin is your largest organ, an organ of elimination which also acts as a barrier to the environment. We shed dead cells and toxins each day. However, as we age, our bodies become less effective in shedding outer layers of dead skin cells. And toxins in the air and our environment also prey on our skin.

  • Dry brushing will help clear away dead cells and toxins on the surface to help you absorb oxygen and nutrients, and encourage cell renewal.
  • Skin brushing helps skin look and feel better as the build-up is removed. The skin will start to glow after regular use.
  • Dry brushing stimulates your glands, providing more moisture for the skin to help it look and fresher more vibrant.
  • Body brushing increases and supports blood circulation. This alone is important, but better circulation also contributes to healthier muscle tone and better distribution of fat deposits.
  • Skin brushing stimulates the lymphatic system by aiding the flow of fluids in your body and Portable Skin Brush from Sublime Beautydrainage. Our lymphatic system is very important in elimination as it moves toxins out, supporting the immune systems by producing white blood cells and generating antibodies.
  • Many say that while we have lymph nodes throughout our body, the most important areas with the most nodes are under the arms (armpits) and inner thighs – so giving attention to these areas while brushing is a good practice.
  • Body brushing aids in better digestion.
  • New Skin Brush and Relaxed Sublime Beauty modelBody brushing works to support cleansing of the whole system, inside and out. Accumulated waster products in the body can contribute to illness or premature aging.
  • Dry brushing is a stress-buster! Your body feels and functions better, your skin feels and looks better, and your benefit is a sense of well-being.
  • We could say that dry brushing is a form of DETOX for your body and your soul!

3) How Do I Skin Brush Correctly?

Skin Brushing Courtesy Getty pic** Your tool should have natural bristles only. Sublime Beauty ® offers 2 brushes: the popular Portable Brush in pouch – the one featured in Glamour Magazine (perfect for daily use but easy to take on any trip); and the long-handled brush (but sorry, it is often out of stock).

** Most people like to dry brush every morning (though will do so at night, or even twice a day.) It is best to do this standing in your shower or tub so that dry cells can be washed down the drain.

** The first and most important thing to remember is this: you should always brush in the direction of your heart! Work outward to in (i.e. from hands to shoulder or feet to thighs).

Finally, Why Not Combine Skin Brushing & Phytoceramides?

Natural Phytoceramides replenish the ceramides in skin lost with age. On the Dr. Oz show, plastic surgeons said taking Phytoceramides is like getting a natural facelift. It improves barrier-protection, moisture-retention and plumpness of skin throughout your body!

We put together a kit of the brush and a bottle of Phytoceramides. Get benefits to your skin from the outside AND inside!

A note on Cellulite management:

hIf you have cellulite, you may want to go through a specific and direct treatment for 1 to 3 months. This includes massage of a special formulation of natural products known to attack those fat cells, helping to dissolve them. It will also strengthens and smooth the skin to fight dimpling.

Our Cellulite Whisperer® Gel dissolves toxins and supports the skin, and is massaged into the skin. It is followed by Cellulite Whisperer® Lotion that smoothes and aids the skin while continuing to work at the toxins. Most of the ingredients are organic. You can read more here at our Cellulite Whisperer site.

Skin brushing before these treatments is a good practice, AND daily skin brushing is a good maintenance practice once you have reduced the effects and completed your treatments. Keep it up!
